So, most Saturdays I enjoy spending some time wandering through Marczyk Fine Foods and way too much money on high quality deli meats and cheeses - for my weekly panini fix. I will miss the convenience of living so close to my favorite grocer, but will hopefully find that saving an extra $50 a week just to make two sandwiches to be a nice break for the time being while I try to save up some money. Anyway, I also enjoy perusing the wine selection - as I have never had a bottle of wine that I didn't love from this place. PS, I do not spend more than $12.99 and most often just ask someone to hand me a bottle of delicious and cheap of whatever they think I should drink - based on the minimal criteria - whether it's fish or red meats - or party wine - or whatever. Last weekend I asked for a sparkling rosé - which I know is so NOW right now - but fuck it I want it so yeah - and I like whites in the summer - especially sparkling whites. Lisa got me all kinds of fired up last summer about white wine spritzers - they were definitely the signature summer drink of 2008 - which I will give you the details on later as I experimented with them a lot - and while I might have overdone the spritzer a little last summer - I am still in the mood for some wine and some sparkly (I really prefer drinks of any kind to sparkle). So to make a short story long, I asked the clerk for a sparkling rosé no more than $10 and she said - yeah yeah - these two are good BUT, if you want your socks knocked off you should try this (Segura Viudas ARIA Pinot Noir)sparkling pinot noir - to which I said WHAAAAAAAAT? And then I said, ok, you people have always been so good to me, I will trust you - then I took it home and chilled it - which sounds lame but it was SUPER DUPER AWESOME. So awesome in fact that I marched straight back to Marczyk yesterday and bought two more bottles - at $12.99 - I thought it was fucking worth it - and I also learned it is a little more refreshing with a little chill to it. The End.
